Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
OMS specialises in treating defects, diseases and injuries in the face, mouth and jaws.
The Oral and Maxillofacial is concerned with the diagnosis and surgical treatment of oral, salivary, maxillary and bony diseases of the oral cavity and jaw. An outpatient facility is available for the investigation and diagnosis of these diseases including biopsy. Joint clinics are held with Oral Medicine (mucosal disease), Orthodontics (facial deformity), and Restorative (Maxillofacial Oncology / Implants / Sinus lifts) as well as assessment for the Zygomatic Implant retained prosthesis. Sedation surgical facilities are available for the surgical management of those conditions possible under sedation – wisdom teeth, – impacted canines, – jaw cysts, – soft tissue surgery, -TMJ procedures, – implantology and bone grafting procedures, – early oral cancers.
